Jo and David were fortunate to bump into Steve Burbidge, from Burbidges Bakery in Andover, when he stopped off at Chilbolton Stores whilst out on his motorbike. Burbidges is a traditional family run bakery, which bakes bread and morning goods in the same traditional manner, as it would have done 100 years OK, when Harry Bernard Burbidge set up his first bakery.
We pick up a range of freshly baked bread each Friday and Saturday morning, including granary, white and wholemeal loaves, granary and cottage baps, as well as a variety of specialty loaves and doughnuts.
We hope everyone enjoys as much as we have, as it it something which is very rare to see in a village the size of Chilbolton and based on how quickly everything sells, Burbidges Bread seems to be a hit.
